Seated extreme right is Dave Spears, next to him, is that you Brian Winn? Did you used to go to St Chad"s Youth Club? I"ve got a photo of a youth club trip taken up on the Moors which you are on. Behind you two, standing, is Frankie Storr, does anyone know his present whereabouts as he is related to me, and I have some family tree information he may be interested in. His parents ran the Oddfellows at Thornaby, and he attended Richard Hind. Later on, I believe, he worked as an accountant for Camerons Brewery. 19/12/2008 10:55:27

The pub Frank Storr had near Eaglescliffe's golf course was called The Pavillon. Frank was a good left-back who served Billingham Synthonia well in the Northern League. 01/02/2010 14:13:39

Frankie Storr is no longer at The Pavilion pub, seems he left a while ago. I was directed there while trying to locate him to pass on Storr family tree information, so if anyone has any idea of his whereabouts I would be glad to know. He did work for Camerons Brewery at one time, he used to come to my late mother-in-law's pub, The Royal, at Portrack to do the audit.01/02/2010 18:46:36

Pat Pattison (nee Beard) - When I worked at North Riding Publishing Co. (later known as W W Web Offset), Skipper's Lane, Eston in the 1970's, a Frank Storr was one of the reps there who I know played football. After Web Offset closed in 1977 I'm sure I heard that Frank had the Pavilion pub in Eaglescliffe. Is this the same person? But I don't where Frankie Storr is now.03/02/2010 14:31:25

I too remember Frank Storr from WW-Web Offset. After the Web shut Frank did Temp management for Camerons, and I can remember him being at The Highland Lad, Norton and the Red Lion in Norton - this would be in the early 1980's. I don't know anything about him after that.03/02/2010 17:04:45

Thanks for the info Brian, seems to be the same guy, but, like you say, no one seems to know his whereabouts now.03/02/2010 18:40:25

Frank Storr was, or still is, a Probation Officer and living in Eaglescliffe just round the corner from the Pavilion Pub he used to run.04/02/2010 12:04:46

In the top picture the gentleman standing 2nd from the right looks very much like Walter Dawson who was a good friend of my Uncle Lenny Wright and my late father in law Stan Wilson. I used to go to the matches at Ayresome Park with Lenny and Walter and they would lift me from the boys' enclosure to the main terraces when the stewards weren't looking. Can anybody confirm it is Walter? 05/02/2010 19:43:36

It certainly is Wally Dawson08/02/2010 11:21:29

APPEAL - We have heard from Mr Brian Walker, of Fishburn who played in the Stockton FC Juniors side that won the inter-Association cup in the 1956/7 season. He is keen to get in touch with any of those who played in that team. Some of the names he remembers include D. Murrayfield(goalkeeper), T. Garbutt, D. Helyer, H. Chapman, D Hawk, T.Cockerell and J. Murphy. Anyone with any information can get in touch with us at pictures@stockton.gov.uk 20/08/2010 10:57:55
