Forget about the menu with its Halibut and the Roast Turkey, look at the back page with the list of those present at the dinner. Ex-Ashmore employees may recognise their friends amongst the “Staff” Peter Bonner, Bill Conway, Freddy Cowell, Wilf Gale, Derek Gregory, Steve Hepple, George Hall, Lenny Lake, Ron Lowery, Norman Pattison, Walter Tennet and Tommy Watt. And the “Guests” present were all the Ashmores bosses; Tommy Clarke, Barry Derbyshire, Matt Featherstone, Norman Fowler, Dick Hardie, John Hunter, Vernon Jones, Ron Kirtley, Arthur Lockwell, George Maine, Freddy Matson, Harold McMurdo, Bill Roberts , Douggie Traill, and Henry Watson.
